WED 3.26
ASSEMBLE
musical batons

It’s a school night so you best believe we’ll be taking notes as Boston music legends and veterans talk shop on the way things were and the way things could be. The city is at a tenuous juncture industry-wise (we’re an ass-hair away from irrelevance, nationally speaking) and we need to take heed of what experienced heads like Ed OG, Akrobatick, and Shea Rose have to say.

Stupid Fucking Bird
cheeky chekhov

Telling a bunch of arts critics that you’re going to satirize Chekhov is like feeding Alka Seltzer to a seagull–we’re going to explode! Or we’ll just poop on your car and pick through your trash. It really could go either way. Anyways, Apollinaire Theatre Company’s website says this production “contains nudity and the word fuck.” They might as well of named it “The Dig’s Favorite Thing.”

Pico Picante
big sound

We’re not gonna lie, we only go to Austin, Texas to party. And when we go to Ol’ Tejas we party big. Grande even. So when we heard that Orion and King Louie from ATX’s globalist-dance Peligrosa collective were coming to town we had to clear a lone star state sized hole in our calendar to give us proper recovery time. We’ll try to behave ourselves but if we here that cumbia beat, well, no promises.

Smash It Dead 2014
radical weekend

Punk, politics and brunch–it’s the most Cambridge weekend in the history of humankind. Over the course of three days, 33 bands will smash the patriarchy with the punk rock, gathering to raise awareness and money for the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center. Between anti-privilege and anti-racism workshops and brunch potlucks, it’s going to be fun to indulge our anti-authoritarian impulses even if we have to got to work on Monday.

SUN 3.30
Get To The Chopper, Panty Dropper!
yippee ki-yay

Old School Game Show is here to do two things: chew some bubblegum and kick some ass. Looks like they’ve run out of bubblegum, because this week’s retro Action Movie-themed installment of OSGS is ready to put a boot in your patoot. Like Price is Right whacked out on Nuke (the inexplicably addictive drug from Robocop 2) making sweet, sweet love to the whammy from Press Your Luck, OSGS is an action-packed evening of hilarity.

Book of Mormon
PARKER + STONE

Don’t know what you guys were doing for March Madness (we hear basketball is a popular thing), but we had brackets full of TV shows and fought fiercely with our nerdy friends over, well, what was better than “Friends.” As of press time “South Park” was in the Final Four and we’re looking to pick up the pool, which means we can pay our rent this month. Well, we could pay our rent if weren’t gonna spend that filthy lucre on this multi award-winning musical from the creators of “South Park.”
